Ty's Mancation 2013 Recap-Day 4

Nashville to Home

Not much to report on this day.  I hung out with Jean in the morning, keeping an eye on the radar and weather patterns.  At around 2 pm, it looked like I might be able to make it all the way home without getting rained on.  So I bolted. Somehow I did make it home in the dry.  Although at times it looked like I had just missed a thunderstorm as the road would be wet and the air heavy with moisture.

I rode to Decatur, stopped for gas and headed for home.  I pulled up to the house at 6:30pm, glad to be home, but disappointed that things didn't go as planned.

Aw man!!! Sounds like you're gonna need to make another go of it! I'm sorry it didn't pan out but so glad you made it back safely. Good call.

Am I in a circus, or what?

It's 9:00pm and I'm reflecting on the day. I'm super tired, but I can't go to bed yet on account of Milla's last feeding for the day (scheduled around 10:00pm or so). I can't help but laugh now that I look back on the events of the day, but I was ready to grab the keys and my purse around 4:00pm. Forget any luggage, I'd just charge everything I need or want when I hit my destination-- wherever that was going to be (probably the first of the Florida Keys for some Key Lime Pie). Did I mention I was going to go alone? Maybe I'd take Milla. . . Let me set the scene for you. . .It's 4:00pm, I've been watching the neighbor's two kids since 11:00am. Yes that's a total of 5 kids-- did I mention I have a one month old? Being the thoughtful wife that I am I decided to make chocolate banana bread so Ty could enjoy a nice warm treat. Age and Experience

They say the two go hand in hand...age and experience, that is. And I suppose they, whoever 'they' are, are right for the most part. Only for me, it seems I'm getting older with out the experience part. I still feel as unfit for whatever task is at had as I did 10 years ago. Anyway, back on Monday, I turned the ripe old age of 33. I've found the mid thirties to be weird age. I'm young enough to not feel old and old enough to not feel young. And I act 18 most of the time! Angela baked my favorite chocolate cake for me. I don't know what it is called, and it takes a butt-load of time to make. But the end result is a rich, moist, delicious chocolate cake with a surprise creamy filling in the middle. Its like eating a Ding-Dong only without the preservatives and it tastes better and you get more than two measley bites from a piece (is it just me or are Ding Dongs and Twinkies getting smaller?).
