Watch out for that TREE!

Image
Gavin made me sing the "George of the Jungle" song while they did this.  I was instructed to time it just right so that he was in mid-swing when I got to the part about "watch out for that tree".  Unfortunately, you can't see my prized daffodils that they "tried" to avoid, but eventually got smashed by wild monkeys.  All in good fun, though, right? Then the next day I realized that they could smash all my daffodils and I wouldn't care, because time is going by too fast and I wouldn't trade all the pretty flowers in the world for my sweet kids .

It's so hard. . .to say goodbye, to yesterday!

It's always sad to see a member of the family go, but it was time.  "Seca"jawea moved onto another family.  Poor Ty was a little verklempt all evening, but he knew it was for the best.  So here's homage to the old girl!

Mud Days and Snow Days-- It's all Fun!

Image
There are days when you don't want to get out of the house because the weather is crappy, but this is what happens when you can't take it anymore and you just gotta get out!  I try and look the other way whenever they do something I normally wouldn't let them do (mud pies all over the patio furniture and mud dumped onto the slide for a real mud slide and mud flinging contests) because they are just so darn cute whenever they are doing it! And then we had a few snow days which always puts us in a good mood!

Santoki Song-- a song my mother used to sing to us (be sure to pause the other music player)

To Seoul and Back Again

This was our view from the room at the Best Western Gangnam (don't you dare pronounce it like it's written or the taxi driver may never find it. . .it's more like Kongnaum). Can you find the Kimchi pots? Seoul is one awesome city!  Seoul is one crazy packed and busy city!  Seoul has everything you want or need (like some French-style pastries and breads!).  I never knew I was a carbohydrate or bread junkie till I was deprived of it. . .then I found Urban Cafe right near our hotel! Tuesday through Friday was crazy packed with all the touristy things we could muster.  I won't bore you with details, but here's a picture story of our stay.  I wanna go back! Palace Tours DMZ tour View to North Korea Dorasan Station-- Jean waiting for a train that will never come for those trapped in North Korea I dare you to eat that! Busan or Pusan (depends on who you ask)

Image
Come "Hell or Highwater" or Typhoon Malou that was hitting the area, we wanted to see Busan!  So with the help of Jennifer Hong, we rode the KTX down and spent the day walking the beautiful beach, feeding cute pigeons, shopping interesting markets, visiting the UN Memorial Cemetary, and eating (our favorite tourist pastime) yummy food. Panoramics of Busan Jean collecting shells Bidulgi Eomma (pigeon mom) This was the toilet we were expected to use! (a little hard for us who haven't perfected the Asian squat) Seafood! Then we headed back to Seoul for our last few days.  And because we were missing home (and soda and veggies and bread) we decided to eat Outback Steakhouse for dinner.
